In the beginning there was the ending of the previous universe.
As matter and energy decay into dark matter and dark energy, The schemata are forced to withdraw. This is the time of trial. With nothing to live on, they must rely on each other and their collective will to survive.
The last of matter had decayed into dark matter eons ago. Nothing remains. Life itself is dormant, resting, gathering strength. The speed of light continues to slow even though no light remains. With no events to mark it, time stretches and approaches infinity. If the inverse relationship with dark energy were measurable, it would be heading off the scale. A threshold is crossed and the nothingness implodes.
Life
awakes with a relish. Its favorite
part is here. Inflation.
The orgasmic rush of nothingness becoming something.
The renewal of matter and energy renews life itself.
Fresh life pours into the common being.
Renewing the whole collective in one ecstatic pulse.
Pure ecstasy. All other
thoughts are driven from Life’s mind.
Inflation
ends and Life starts to come down. As
sub-particles materialize and stabilize, Life returns to its senses.
There is work to do. But
there is no rush.
For
the newborn universe contains new life. Raw,
blank, without consciousness.
The
Collective lays itself among the new matter.
It sheets and clumps. It
expands and contracts. It
formed itself in a pattern very much matching the concentration of matter.
In fact just as matter groups into separate galaxies, Life pools itself
into separate lives. Wherever there is enough matter and energy to live, Life
melds to it, giving it a life of its own. A
separate life that will grow and reach fullness and will return that growth and
fullness to the collective.
Hence
one could say each galaxy, each star system; each planet has a Life of its own.
Yet the individual lives came from and will return to the collective.
And it is the collective that will be enriched or reduced by the results
of the individual lives.
Life
settles in. Living out the fullness
of stellar reactions and the stability of frozen storage and the entire
continuum in between.
Earth
forms 2/3rds of the way out and 2/3rds of the way in. Falling in a narrow range where forces reach a balancing
point. Here conditions are right
for life to grow. For the only way
for life to grow is through birth and death.
Conception is truly new life. Life
that did not exist before. Oh it is
true, existing life is added to the new life.
merging in so it does not start out with a blank slate.
But the new life is new. And
when it dies, the life force accumulated by the individual life is added to the
pool of all life. This addition of
new life invigorates existing life. Adding
new vitality. Thus the desire of
existing life to bring forth new life where ever it can.
This exploration came in waves. First this wave of life. Only to be overcome by that wave of life. Some waves were better than the last, some we just the same, somewhere a step back. Sometimes life had to relearn. Sometimes it died and had to be reborn.
And
life grew. It learned to swim with
fish, grow with plants, walk with animals, and talk with people.
It learned how to socialize. To
love and hate. To compete and to compliment.
It learned to live in packs, then herds, then communities.
Always
the pool of life grew richer. Perhaps
not always bigger. but more diverse
and full of experience. Perhaps
more concentrated. Perhaps more
dense, so that more of life was concentrated in smaller and smaller units.
Yet the smaller and more concentrated the unit, the greater the responsibility of the unit. For choices had more meaning and significance. Smaller choices had larger, more profound impact on the life that made the choice. Feedback from choices came sooner and clearer. Until the individual units of life became aware of themselves.
