When a universe dies, its anchor point in the multiverse remains.
The basic constants of this point continue unchanged.
But the location or anchor point will not stay empty. A new universe can arise that follow the same constants. In a sense the universe can start over again.
Thus there is a cycle where the universe repeats.
But there is some carryover from one universe to the next. The fact that matter and energy existed here before carries forward into the new universe.
Thus Dark Matter and Dark Energy are the remininates of previous universes. One could say they are the ghosts of universes past.
