Fundamental to the discussion of contraception and abortion is the question of when do cells become a human being After birth? Before birth? At conception? The answer to that question helps decide the rest.
Soul Work Theology believes the following. 1. Sperm and egg are just cells before conception. This means there is no moral problem with keeping the two from meeting. All forms of contraception are fine. 2. Once sperm and egg join in conception, the result is living tissue. Living tissue can be cut off and removed, if need be. A person can have an infected limb cut off. A woman can have living tissue removed. 3. Once some of the organs start to form and the heart starts being, then it becomes a living being. At which point a small amount of soul material is created. Here the moral issues start coming into play. One can not kill living beings just because one wants to. There needs to be a pretty good reason. And it should be done as humainly as possible. 4. The Quickening. Soul Work theology believes there comes a point Where life pours enough soul material into the developing living being that it completes the soul. At which point the living being becomes a human being. Which means killing it is murder. The woman may feel the first intentional kick, a sort of "I'm Here" event.
This means that Soul Work Theology is fine with contraceptives and morning after medicines. Soul Work has no problems with Early abortions. Care needs to be taken once the heart starts beating. Once the Quickening occurs, the human being should be carried to term, except for extream cases.
It is important to note here, that soul work theology position is meant as advice. Some starting framework. Not Divine Dogma that must be followed. Individual women will have to weigh their individual situations and make the best decision she can. Soul Work adhearants are to do their best to accept and support the woman's decision. Even if it does not conform to the proposed framework.
